What do I really want in life?

It is 1 in the morning and here I am, thinking of what I really want in life. It’s been 4 months since I graduated and up until now, I haven’t accomplished anything. My career is still a zer0. I’m really not sure if it’s because my effort to look for a job is still not enough, or I’m just not worth any position in a large firm also because of my zer0 experience but, this thought have been sinking in a lot nowadays and it’s just very depressing on my part.

For the past days, I’ve been thinking of how much I need to get hired as soon as possible. Well, August is kind of the month. Of course if I get hired, and pay is the last week.. then I can get to treat my family on my first pay. It is Mama’s birthday on the 29th and of course, if ever I do get the pay, her birthday dinner will be my treat (since I originally plan on treating my family on a fine dining on my first pay). 2nd would be that Josel is also coming by the end of the month, and maybe I can spoil her on the first pay with a little shopping of course. And now that we are on the 2nd week of the month, it lessens my hope of getting hired and doing everything I planned, plus.. It’s Ramadan, meaning lesser rates of hiring because of less working hours and everyone is kind of resting during this Holy Month of Ramadan. And I’ve been also thinking that what if I just go back to studying.. take up my 2nd course which will be Fashion Design and Marketing. But then again, it’s just not the right time yet.

So before I get really emotional.. I believe that God has everything planned out in my life.. especially in my career. Although I loose hope as days pass by, I will never stop praying to him.. and I do feel that my job is just around the corner. Besides, good things comes to those who waits. I’ll never know, I’ll be working for one of the largest and well-known firms here in Dubai. Well, I just also tell myself that I have to be positive. And like I said, I believe in the saying..

Good Things comes to those who waits..

  1. I have the same dilemma. This time isn't really an easy time to look for a job (w/ the uae economy, plus ramadan and all) so I highly doubt that the problem is you 🙂 Don't lose hope, I'm sure things will come around one way or another. Best of luck and God bless!

  3. sweetie, you need to realize first of all that the economy is really hard right now and unfortunately dubai is still having a hard time recovering. plus its ramadan and there is really not much hiring at the moment. being a new graduate, you really cannot expect the biggest firm to hire you or get the highest paying job – you need to start small, somewhere where its good enough to get you by, get the experience you need and get yourself ready for a bigger, better job (ika nga eh learn what you need to and get all the contacts and connections to move up later on). dont loose hope and most importantly dont loose confidence. it takes time, it takes hard work and it does take patience – but you will get there. one way or another, you will. god is good and know that you do deserve a great life, a great job and a great future! ♥
